ANNEALING

Electrical steel cores undergoing the annealing process to relieve stress and optimise magnetic properties

Annealing is a softening process for metal that reduces internal strain caused by work hardening and facilitates recrystallization and grain growth. Annealing returns the ductility to the metal allowing for future operations and processing. Wiltan has available both conveyor belt furnaces for continuous and uninterrupted processes of annealing as well as Bell batch furnaces for annealing of larger products or to anneal larger quantities in batches and extended soak times. Annealing temperatures may be adjusted up to 845 Â°C.

POLYURETHANE COATING

Polypropylene (PPC) is a durable material that has an excellent resistant to

chemicals. Wiltan’s thermoforming process produces a thin film with a high

gloss finish. It gives an exceptionally durable finish that has superior resistance

to corrosion, abrasion, and chemical exposure.

EPOXY COATING

Epoxy coating produces an extremely strong and durable finish. Wiltan uses a range of fusion boned epoxy (FBE) powder coatings and during the coating application process at temperatures usually between 180 to 250 Â°C the contents of the powder melt and transform to a liquid form. The liquid FBE film wets and flows onto the surface of the product and soon becomes a solid coating by chemical cross linking assisted by heat and produces a thermoset coating.

VACUUM PRESSURE IMPREGNATION

Vacuum Pressure Impregnation tanks and systems are used widely to seal and coat surfaces and ensure maximum penetration between surfaces without negatively affecting the finished product as well as enabling subsequent manufacturing processes. Wiltan have a range of equipment with varying chamber sizes which can us used individually or as part of batch processing.

BAKING & CURING OVENS

Industrial oven curing insulated cores to ensure long-lasting coating adhesion and thermal stability

Baking and curing ovens are used across many industries for drying and curing of resins, varnishes and other coatings as well as for annealing and other heat treatment processes. Wiltan have a range of small to medium/large both gas and electric powered and all fully programmable from 50°C to 800°C.

SLITTING MACHINE

Slitting and rewinding is a process used to produce coil of specific strip width from a larger coil. Wiltan’s in house slitting service can slit coil from a maximum size of 350mm down to as low as 30mm.

LAPPING & POLISHING

Precision lapping and polishing of core surfaces to enhance smoothness and ensure optimal contact in assembled units

Lapping Machines are used to produce optically flat surfaces with high precision surface finish. Wiltan equipment include fully integrated precision process timers with automatic liquid diamond dispensing systems.
