Company Profile

Wiltan Magnetic Components is the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of strip wound cores in electrical steels, both cut and uncut; and cut laminations for use in the transformer and associated industries.

Since its formation in 1985, the Company has continued to develop moving to larger premises that accommodates the extra plant necessary to cater for the increasing demand for its products. With the recent strain on the UK steel industry as a result of China’s low prices, climate change policies, the strength of the pound and high electricity prices, keeping one step ahead has remained an important policy to Wiltan Ltd. Located in modern premises with specially designed equipment, the company has been able to produce cores to a very high standard at extremely competitive prices using innovative and efficient manufacturing techniques.

The Managing Director, Zou Itani, has been involved in the industry since 1978 and has built a strong team at Wiltan who work hard to meet the varying and individual requirements of their customers. The relationships they build are ones of partnership and trust allowing them to offer an exceptional service that exceeds the traditional customer-supplier liaison.

Wiltan has increased its storage facilities in order to offer a Kan Ban stock system. This helps reduce lead times and the customer’s own stock levels and is a service that is available to every customer who feels that they would benefit from it. In addition, E cores, Mu-metal and 0.1mm / 0.05mm material cores are available to customer specification and the quality and manufacturing systems are constantly being reviewed, resulting in ongoing improvements.

Wiltan always strives to meet the requirements of the current market which has led to its ongoing success in an increasingly competitive industry. It was the first in the field to recognise the necessity to be adaptable and reactive to customer needs with extremely short lead times becoming the norm rather than the exception.

We welcome any enquiries for standard or non-standard cores, large or small quantities whatever your requirements.
